All enjoyed at the Chanukah Festival and Torah Writing Launch. Kids were greeted by a giant rock climbing wall, which was tons of fun. Then we began the writing of our community sefer torah with scribe, Rabbi Newman. Solly Spigler from Melborune Australia was honored with lighting the giant menorah and enjoyed a delicious Israeli dinner. We heard the beautiful music from Bella Staav on the flute. Thanks for a wonderful evening!

Rabbi Sender came to Hebrew School to share with us the magical process of crushing olives and making olive oil. It was a science experiment through Judaism.
The Women's event was great, the food was excellent & so was the spirit.
Stimulating Sundays started last Sunday's with the heroic story of Eli Cohen. Eli's brother told his story and showed the incredible movie
A Bee Keeper came to Hebrew School and explained the life of a bee. The kids tasted really honeycomb & touched the bees wax. Then, we heard about the shofar and special services for Rosh Hashanah. We also had an apple taste testing and "guess the honey" contest. A great day at Chabad Hebrew School.
A Women's Event.
Over 30 women gathered at Chabad for a dinner party and hands on art presentation. We enjoyed a gourmet dinner. Then, we went inside where art master Erica Wolfson had an art display so we could experience the different textures. Erica demonstrated a picture of oranges, which we recreated step by step. We then went outside in the summer night, enjoyed the main course and dessert. Naomi Blesofsky spoke about the connection between art and Judaism, how we use the world Hashem created and its resources to create art.
A special thank you our evening's sponsors Miriam Nortman and Leslee Newman and volunteers, Joyce Gorman, Sheila Donenfeld, Tal HaCohen, Shlomit Kofman, and Tina Barth.
A special ceremony dedicating the Education Building Courtyard by Jay, Mark & Ian Kessler in memory of David & Tybe Kessler. David & Tybe were pioneering members of the Chabad Center from the early days in Anaheim. Their legacy of generosity is being continued by their children.

Our Jewish Trip To LA
Last Sunday community members met at Chabad in the morning and drove to Los Angeles to see and experience Jewish La. We were met by Rabbi Zalman Kravitz of Jews for Judaism for a walking tour down the famous Pico Blvd. We visited the Mezuzah Gallery and met with a scribe, visiting other Chabad synagogues, and got a chance to see the Tomchei Shabbos warehouse. Tomchei Shabbos packs and delivers Kosher food anonymously to the Jewish community each Friday for Shabbat. We also had a delicious lunch at Pico Kosher Deli. Thanks to all for joining us!
